Trichoscopy
Trichoscopy is the term coined for dermoscopic imaging of the scalp and hair. This novel diagnostic technique, both simple and non-invasive, can be used as a handy bed side tool for diagnosing common hair and scalp disorders. Hair loss is the most common hair problem and a prompt diagnosis of the type of alopecia may sometimes be extremely challenging. A much more advanced system, a video trichoscope can be used to assess the health and oiliness of scalp along with the density and thickness of hair. This is utilised in assessing the donor area density and predicting results of hair transplantation in common practice. The tool is also employed in assessing the density of hair at the recipient site after hair transplantation surgery. We at DrHairTM employ the latest high resolution trichoscope to assess the results and communicate with our clients.
