Intra-lesional Corticosteroid Injection
An intralesional steroid injection involves a corticosteroid such as triamcinolone acetonide injected directly into a lesion on or immediately below the skin. This is very effective in many skin diseases with limited extend/spread. This treatment modality is commonly employed in Alopecia areata, keloid/hypertrophic scar, hypertrophic lichen planus, lichen simplex chronicus, localised psoriasis, acne cysts etc.
